Hero Karizma 210 In The Making; To Rival Bajaj Pulsar RS200

As per one of the recent reports, later this year, Hero MotoCorp’s most iconic premium motorcycle brand Karizma will make it to the spotlight once again. Hero MotoCorp has been working on the next-gen Karizma for a while now. Hero is set to launch the upcoming Karizma with a brand-new engine and chassis.

The Gurgaon-based company is preparing a new motorcycle platform. This new platform will allow them to compete in the premium motorcycle segment. The older Karizma was available with a 223cc air-cooled fuel-injected 20 bhp engine. According to the details available, the new Karizma will be powered by a new 210cc liquid-cooled engine. The engine is expected to produce a max power of 25 bhp and a peak torque of 30 Nm. This new engine on the Karizma will come with a six-speed transmission system.

Other specs and details will be revealed as the launch date approaches. The upcoming new Hero Karizma 210 may draw design inspiration from the previous generation Karizma and is expected to take some styling cues from the Hero's HX250R concept motorcycle.

Hero's most visible and powerful premium brand to date has been Karizma. It had a ridiculous amount of brand value, and many young Indians wanted to be associated with that motorcycle brand. Everything changed after the facelifted bikes designed by EBR were released in 2014. The bikes did not receive the expected response and the R and the ZMR motorcycles were phased out.

This upcoming Karizma motorcycle will be significant for Hero MotoCorp. As the company wants to make a big push into the premium segment. Because of its value-for-money aspect and lack of competitors, Xpulse 200 is currently the only one that sells well. And Xpulse has made a significant difference in the segment. The Xtreme 200S did not excite the market and sells less than the Xpulse. So a brand-new Karizma will assist Hero in taking on the Dominar 250s, Gixxer 250s, and the Pulsar RS200.

Which one is best - Royal Enfield Classic 350 or Hero Karizma R V2.0?

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a better option if you wish to go for a new bike. The Karizma R version 2 has evolved a bit from your Karizma but does not stand up against any of the bikes on the top charts today. It has no direct competition with the RE Classic 350 but when comparing both, the winner would be the Royal Enfield for sure. With its 346 cc, 1-cylinder engine, the RE produces 19.8 BHP @ 5250 rpm and 28 NM @ 4200 rpm. The massive amount of torque is good for every terrain and outruns all the bikes in the price segment. It comes with a disc brake, electric start and loads of more comfort enhancing features, making the Classic 350 clear winner when compared to Karizma R version 2.0. Also, the Classic 350 comes with a price tag of INR 1.18 lakh, making it a value for money product.
