Force Gurkha 5-door Spotted Camouflaged (Again)

The 5-door Force Gurkha has been in development for almost two years. It will feature a three-row layout, with bench seats for the second row and captain seats for the third row. The vehicle will be powered by the same 2.6-liter diesel engine as the 3-door version but with a higher tune. Pricing is expected to start at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). This off-roader has been spotted several times during testing, covered in camouflage.

Exterior Highlights

Despite being heavily camouflaged in recent spy shots, the 5-door Gurkha's larger dimensions are evident. It sports alloy wheels that are slightly different from those on the 3-door model, along with side steps for easier access to the cabin. Rectangular windows and a roof rack for more storage draw attention to the car's boxy form. At the rear, the Gurkha maintains its rugged appeal with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, a practical ladder for roof access, and the familiar taillight design seen on the 3-door version.

Interior Comfort and Features

The interior of the 5-door Gurkha has been spotted with a dark grey theme and all-black upholstery. There will be plenty of space for passengers in the SUV's three-row arrangement, which is predicted to include bench seats in the second row and individual captain seats in the third. Unlike the 3-door model, the 5-door Gurkha will feature an electronic 4WD selector, enhancing its off-road capabilities. It is probably going to have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, manual air conditioning with rear vents, and all the standard safety features including ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rearview cameras, and two front airbags.

Powertrain and Performance

The 5-door Gurkha will be powered by the same 2.6-liter diesel engine found in the 3-door version, which produces 90 PS and 250 Nm of torque. However, it is expected to be tuned for higher performance to accommodate the larger size of the vehicle. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-wheel-drive system the Gurkha is poised to offer robust off-road performance and tackle challenging terrains with ease.

Expected Price, Launch, and Rivals

While there is no official launch date yet, the 5-door Force Gurkha is anticipated to hit the market later this year. It is expected to be priced from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive option in the off-road segment. Once launched, it will go head-to-head with the 5-door Mahindra Thar and serve as a larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny offering off-road enthusiasts a new choice for their adventures.
