BS6 TVS Apache in the Making; India Launch after September

BS6 TVS Apache in the Making: TVS Motor has confirmed recently that they are working on BSVI-compliant models for the Indian market. The company is also planning to introduce its electric vehicles in the second half of the current financial year that is post-September 2019. The TVS Apache RTR series is one of the famous motorcycle series which is expected to be introduced as the first BSVI-compliant product from the company. Along with the BS6 update, the Apache RTR 200 is also expected to get an all-LED headlight, new colour options, plus minor improvements in terms of design and ergonomics. Also, the company recently launched the ethanol-powered variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V. This shows that TVS Motor is also working on alternative fuel variants. The performance figures produced by the ethanol variant are the same as that of the numbers produced by the petrol variant. Well, the expectations will be cleared once the company will reveal its first BS6 product. The rival companies of TVS such as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) and Hero MotoCorp have recently announced their first BSVI-compliant product. Honda showcased the BS6 model of Activa 125 whereas Hero MotoCorp unveiled the BS6 Splendor iSmart. TVS Motor recently gave the ZX variant of the Jupiter an upgrade and equipped the premium model of the scooter with features like an LED headlight and a semi-digital instrument console. So we can expect that there will be minimal changes in the appearance of Jupiter but surely there would be a significant mechanical upgrade to make it BSVI-compliant. It is expected to get fuel injection to meet the upcoming emission norms, which will be in effect from April 1, 2020. The company is also going to introduce a solar-powered electric scooter by 2022. The preparation that the brand is doing to introduce its electric vehicles is in effect to the deadline that has been provided by the Indian government to the two-wheeler manufacturers.
