BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Gets Power Boost; Key Specs Revealed

Like every other motorcycle manufacturer launching their BS6-compliant products at a faster pace, Bajaj Auto is not far behind. The brand is all set to launch the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 in the coming days while the power figure for the updated motorcycle has been significantly increased. The brand has replaced the carburetted engine on the last-gen NS160 with a fuel-injected engine, thus justifying the rise in power output from 15.5HP to 17HP. The significant increase in the power figure has ultimately made the NS160 one of the most powerful products in its segment considering the immediate rivals like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer 155 and Yamaha FZ V3, as these bikes are capable of offering 16HP, 13.6HP and 12.4HP, respectively. The power figure offered by the motorcycle is now up by 1.5HP when compared to the 15.5HP @ 8,500 rpm offered by its BS4 avatar. There has been no official confirmation on the updated torque figure as of yet though it is also expected to be tweaked a bit with the updated engine. The suspension duties will continue to be handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear will feature a similar monoshock unit. The motorcycle will feature the similar disc brakes set up at either end mated to a single-channel ABS as standard. Apart from the addition of a revised engine, BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 retains all the similar cosmetic bits when compared to its BS4 counterpart though one can expect the brand to offer revised graphic detailing to further impart a fresher outlook. The updated price tag of the motorcycle has also been revealed ahead of its official launch. The customers will be available to get their hands on the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,04,652 which is INR 9,000 higher when compared to the BS4 price tag of the motorcycle.
