BMW Motorrad has launched the 2023 M 1000 RR in India. It is the sportiest version of its popular litre-class offering, the S 1000 RR. The M 1000 RR gets a number of upgrades over the S 1000 RR.

The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR is a track-focused motorcycle that is designed to deliver maximum performance. It is offered in two trims, the standard and the Competition, with prices starting at Rs. 49,00,000 and Rs. 55,00,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

The M 1000 RR draws its bodywork from the S 1000 RR, but it features a number of upgrades that make it more aggressive and track-oriented. These include carbon fibre bodywork, huge winglets, carbon fibre wheels, and BMW's signature M theme paint scheme.

The BMW M 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc inline-four engine that produces 212 hp and 113 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with a bi-directional quick-shifter and a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike can reach a top speed of 314 km/h. The S 1000 RR comes with a comprehensive list of rider aids. The M-trim adds even more features, such as the BMW endurance chain, GPS lap trigger, carbon rear fender, etc.

The BMW M 1000 RR is equipped with a fully adjustable suspension system, consisting of USD front forks with rebound, compression, and preload adjustability, and a rear mono-shock with the same adjustability.

The braking system on the M 1000 RR is equally impressive. It consists of dual 320mm front discs with four-piston callipers and a single 220mm rear disc with a two-piston calliper. The brakes are controlled by dual-channel ABS to prevent wheel lockup under heavy braking. The M 1000 RR rides on 17-inch carbon wheels and the wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires.

The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR is available in two colour schemes: Light White for the standard model and Black Storm Metallic for the Competition model. It is a direct rival to the Ducati Panigale V4 R, which is priced significantly higher at Rs 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom, PAN India).
