Production and Global Availability
Production of this Audi Q6 E-tron and Porsche Macan Electric competitor is planned to commence in 2025 at a new factory in Debrecen, Hungary. Additionally, BMW's facilities in Munich, Germany, and San Luis PotosÃ, Mexico, are slated to start producing Neue Klasse models in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

The Neue Klasse architecture will feature a new sixth-generation lithium-ion battery with cylindrical cells and liquid cooling, replacing the prismatic cells used in current BMW EVs. This battery, along with a shift to an 800V electric architecture, is expected to charge 30 percent faster than its predecessor.
