Benelli India has officially started teasing a new motorcycle across its social media platforms. The upcoming motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer is likely to be launched in the first week of August. The brand is promoting its new motorcycle with a #ReadyToRoar hashtag, thus confirming the arrival of Leoncino 500’s road-oriented version. Powering the Benelli’s upcoming scrambler is a 499.6cc inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine capable of generating a maximum power output of 47HP at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 45 Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine is mated to the 6-speed transmission. The suspension duties are handled by 50mm upside-down telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the motorcycle gets a monoshock absorber. The tubular steel trellis frame of the motorcycle comes equipped with 320mm twin disc brakes at the front and a 260mm single disc brake at the rear. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with dual-channel ABS for additional safety. The Benelli Leoncino 500 gets a premium headlamp with dual projectors in addition to LED blinkers as well as a fully digital instrument panel. The motorcycle has been equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels on either end. The Benelli Leoncino 500 can be availed in the international markets in three versions namely: Standard, Trail and Sport. According to the Benelli officials, the Indian market will be getting the standard variant of the Leoncino 500 though, depending on the demand of the product and the sales factor, the other two variants could be launched shortly. The brand is likely to debut the Leoncino 500 in the Indian market at a competitive price tag of INR 4-5 lakhs. Once launched in India, the Benelli Leoncino will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and other street motorcycles in this price range.
