Bajaj Dominar - What We Know So Far

Finally, Bajaj has officially released 4 photos and an official press release about their upcoming 400cc motorcycle (373.2cc to be exact). Bajaj Dominar is based on the Pulsar CS400 concept motorcycle which was unveiled at Auto Expo in 2014. Pulsar CS400 was expected to be launched as Pulsar VS400, then the name was changed to Kratos VS400.

Now, as per the latest details available, there were some trademark issues with Kratos name, and now the bike will be known as Dominar and it is expected to be launched in India around 15th December. The expected price for the base non-ABS model is INR 1.60 lakhs and the 2-channel ABS model would be priced somewhere around INR 1.80 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Bajaj Dominar 400 - Official Press Release Pune, 18th November 2016: Bajaj Auto has commenced the production of its biggest and most powerful 400cc bike. The first batch of the bike was rolled out today at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant. What makes the roll-out even more special is that this came out of an assembly line that is managed only by women engineers. This is a milestone event for Bajaj Auto as a manufacturer embracing the best technology as well an organisation committed to gender diversity.

This is a historic moment for Bajaj Auto as exactly 15 years back in November 2001 the company had launched its iconic brand Pulsar which went on to define the sports motorcycle market in India. Pulsar continues to be a market leader in the sports segment for 15 years. The new big bike model, which is scheduled to be launched around mid-December 2016, is also expected to dominate Indian roads in this segment for the coming decade.

According to Mr. Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, “We are proud to announce this historic roll out at Chakan today with our all women assembly line. Our new bike will set new benchmarks in its segment. There is already a lot of buzz, anticipation and excitement about the bike and its features, price and name. However, all our patrons and bike enthusiasts will have to wait for some time, till we share details of the new offering".
