According to recent reports, the much-awaited Bajaj Dominar 250 is all set to be launched in India this month while the deliveries will commence sometime in April 2020. The brand has officially sent out “Block Your Date” invites for the first ride event of the motorcycle which will happen on March 20, 2020, in Pune. Thus, one can easily expect the motorcycle to be officially launched near this date.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 was recently spotted in its full glory while test riding on the Indian roads. Though some might have considered it as the next-gen Dominar 400, the highly tweaked profile did confirm it to feature a lower displacement engine when compared to its elder sibling. The motorcycle has been equipped with several features practically installed for cost-cutting while the 250cc version weighs 600gms less when compared to the kerb weight of the Dominar 400 that stands at 184kg.
The smaller-displacement Dominar 250 has been equipped with a revised disc brake setup at either side while the chain cover is also different. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with thinner tyres in addition to offering a cheaper swingarm unit.
The brand has retained the bulkier profile of the motorcycle while the suspension setup has also been kept the same. The Bajaj Dominar 250 has been equipped with similar USD forks at the front while the rear features a monoshock unit.
The Dominar 250 is expected to feature similar engine specifications as that of the mighty Duke 250 though the power and torque figures are expected to be tweaked a bit. The 250cc engine on the Duke 250 is capable of offering 30HP of maximum power and 24Nm of peak torque. The competitor to the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Yamaha FZ25, the Dominar 250 is expected to be launched in India at a price tag around INR 1.40-1.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
