Audi RS6 Avant GT Wagon Revealed

Audi has introduced the RS6 Avant GT, a special edition model of its V8 super-estate, as part of its broader electrification initiative. This exclusive variant is limited to just 660 units worldwide and boasts several performance enhancements including aerodynamic tweaks, custom carbon-fiber body panels, a unique retro livery, and a noticeable price hike compared to the standard version.

Evolution of the RS6 GTO Concept

The RS6 GT is essentially a road-legal evolution of the radical RS6 GTO concept, which was conceptualized in 2020 by a team of Audi apprentices drawing inspiration from the company's iconic 1989 IMSA GTO race car. Based on the top-tier Performance variant of the RS6, the RS6 GT marks Audi's first utilization of carbon fiber for components such as the bonnet, wing, and wheels.

Distinctive Design and Livery

The RS6 Avant GT is meticulously designed to closely resemble the GTO concept. It features a bespoke livery available in two unique paint finishes: one combining white, grey, and red with white wheels, and the other in grey and black. A more aggressive front splitter, a functional rear diffuser, and a double wing with motorsport inspiration are examples of aero improvements. Additional to its aerodynamic design is the removal of the roof rails. Additionally, the 22-inch wheels are optimized for aerodynamics and adorned with 'RS6 GT' inscriptions.

Luxurious Interior Details

Inside, the RS6 GT boasts premium features such as suede-like Dinamica upholstery with red and bronze stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and floor mats. Each interior also includes a plaque indicating the specific model number chosen by the customer.

Enhanced Performance

To enhance agility in Dynamic mode, the suspension and rear differential have been revised, with coilovers lowered by 10mm and stiffened compared to the standard model. Despite being powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the regular RS6, producing 630hp and 848Nm of torque distributed to all four tyres, the RS6 GT achieves quicker acceleration times. Due to lightweight materials and aerodynamic tweaks, it accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.3 seconds and from 0 to 200kph in 11.5 seconds marking improvements of 0.1 second and 1.5 seconds, respectively. It has an electronic top speed limit of 305 kph.
