Aprilia SXR 125 Launched in India: Piaggio has officially launched the SXR 125 in India with a price tag of INR 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Chandigarh). The all-new premium 125cc scooter competes in the market with the likes of TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Bugman Street 125, Honda Activa 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125, Vespa 125 series, and the Yamaha Ray ZR 125. The bookings for Aprilia SXR 125 are already open with a token amount of INR 5,000 while the scooter has also started reaching dealerships across the country. The 124.45cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine generates a maximum power of 9.52 HP at 7600 rpm along with a peak torque of 9.20 Nm and 6250 rpm. The engine is further mated to a Continous Variable Transmission (CVT). If we talk about the colours, the all-new scooter is available in four colour options - Matt Black, Glossy White, Matt Blue, and Glossy Red. In terms of looks, the SXR 125 looks exactly the same as the SXR 160, which is the flagship scooter under the Aprilia product portfolio for the Indian markets and at present, it is also the most expensive scooter one can buy in India. Coming to the hardware components, the scooter features 12-inch 120/70 front and rear tyres while the suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks upfront along with a mono-shock at the rear. For braking performance, the SXR 125 is equipped with a 220mm front disc brake and a 140mm rear drum brake. The scooter comes equipped with CBS (Combined Braking System) as a standard feature.
