Mahindra, a prominent player in the Indian SUV market, has updated its delivery schedule for popular models like the Thar, Scorpio/N, and XUV700. Thanks to increased production capabilities and improved availability of key components like semiconductors, waiting times for these vehicles have been significantly reduced.
Mahindra Scorpio/N Delivery Updates
The waiting period for the Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio N has seen a notable reduction. The more in-demand Scorpio N has slightly longer waiting times compared to the Scorpio Classic. Here’s a breakdown:
- Scorpio N Z2: 4 to 5 months for both petrol and diesel manual transmissions.
- Scorpio N Z4: 3 to 4 months across petrol and diesel, manual and automatic transmissions.
- Scorpio N Z6: Exclusively available in diesel, with a 3 to 4 month waiting period.
- Scorpio N Z8 and Z8L: 2 to 3 months for both petrol and diesel variants, with the diesel automatic available quicker within 2 to 3 weeks.
- Scorpio Classic S: A waiting period of 2 to 3 months, while the S11 variant remains steady at 4 to 5 months.
The Scorpio N is priced between Rs 13.60 lakh and Rs 24.54 lakh, while the Scorpio Classic ranges from Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 17.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scorpio/N was the top-selling mid-size SUV in India in FY24, outperforming competitors like the MG Hector and the Tata Safari and Harrier.
Mahindra XUV700: Shorter Waiting Times
Initially facing a two-year waiting period at its 2021 launch, the XUV700 now boasts much faster delivery times:
- MX and AX3 trims: Approximately 1 month.
- AX7 and AX7L trims: 1 to 1.5 months.
Mahindra Thar 4x4: Improved Delivery Schedule
The waiting period for the Mahindra Thar 4x4 has been reduced from 3 months in February 2024 to just 6-8 weeks, applicable to both hard and soft top variants across petrol and diesel options. However, the 4x2 variants still face up to a 10-month wait.
Additionally, Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a 5-door version of the Thar later this year. The recently launched Thar Earth Edition, available in a unique Satin Matte Desert Fury color, offers four 4X4 variants priced between Rs 15.40 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
