Engine and Gearbox

The Tata Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp and 170Nm of torque. It is expected to come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The Hyundai i20 N Line features a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 120hp and 172Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo houses a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged engine generating 100hp and 148Nm, coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Visual Changes

The Tata Altroz Racer showcases a dual-tone paint scheme with a blacked-out bonnet, roof, and wing mirrors, complemented by white racing stripes on the bonnet and roof, and a new rear spoiler. The i20 N Line boasts restyled bumpers, a new grille, red accents throughout, a twin-tip exhaust, a new spoiler, and new alloys. On the other hand, the turbo-petrol variants of the Maruti Fronx exhibit no distinct visual elements and feature a dual-tone black and brown interior theme.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo, which is positioned in a premium market, costs somewhat more, ranging from Rs 9.72 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh for turbo variants.

Considering the absence of an automatic version at launch, the Tata Altroz Racer is expected to be priced competitively lower than both the Hyundai i20 N Line and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx turbo-petrol variants.
