650cc TVS Bike In The Making; To Rival Royal Enfield 650 Twins

According to one of the recent automotive leaks, TVS Motor is working on a 650cc motorcycle platform for the Indian market. The brand's new 600cc to 750cc bike will also be an excellent upgrade option for existing TVS customers. Currently, options do not extend beyond the 310cc Apache RR 310.

TVS' new 600cc to 750cc motorcycle is already in the works, although no official confirmation from TVS has been provided. The company's new flagship product will have a twin-cylinder engine while the power and torque output could be comparable to or better than competitors.

It remains to be seen which body style TVS will select for its new flagship. It could launch many body styles at the same time or it could also start with a single offering, such as a roadster. The brand may consider other body styles based on the same platform based on market response.

TVS will undoubtedly need many products in the 600-750cc segment. The competitors such as Royal Enfield are consistently expanding their portfolio in this segment. Following the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield will introduce other 650cc models in the coming months. TVS' new flagship will also compete with Jawa and Yezdi's upcoming 650cc bikes.

It remains to be seen whether TVS will develop its new flagship on its own or in collaboration with another entity. In April 2020, TVS acquired Norton Motorcycles, a British brand. Norton already has a huge selection of large motorcycles. TVS will almost certainly use Norton's expertise for their upcoming motorcycle.

TVS has already begun to position itself as a lifestyle brand. This is evident in products such as Ronin and a greater emphasis on community-based events. The brand displayed four fascinating custom builds of Ronin at the recently concluded 2023 MotoSoul. At the event, an updated connectivity platform was also unveiled. TVS Racing's contribution can be seen in the launch of a new type of racing format known as Flat Track Racing.

The TVS Racing Performance Gear division will also play an important role in the new bike's passive promotion. All these initiatives will contribute to the creation of a favourable environment for the launch of the new TVS flagship.
