The Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus offer both petrol and diesel engine options while the Tata Safari is available only with a diesel engine. With the introduction of the 6-seater variants in the XUV700 lineup, let's compare the pricing of these SUVs in their 6-seater configurations.

Mahindra XUV700 

The Mahindra XUV700, with its recent MY24 updates, now offers 6-seater variants, making it a direct competitor to the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. The petrol variants of the XUV700 range from Rs 21.44 lakh for the AX7 MT to Rs 25.44 lakh for the AX L AT, while the diesel variants start at Rs 22.04 lakh for the AX7 MT and go up to Rs 25.94 lakh for the AX7 L AT. The XUV700 is known for its powerful engines, with the 2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 200 PS and 380 Nm, and the 2.2-liter diesel engine delivering 185 PS and up to 450 Nm. A panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, dual 10.25-inch screens, and other things are available. Additionally, the XUV700 is equipped with dual-zone AC, memory seats, and up to seven airbags.

Tata Safari 

The Tata Safari, a diesel-only SUV, offers its 6-seater configuration in the top-spec Accomplished Plus variant. The diesel variants are priced between Rs 25.59 lakh for the Accomplished Plus MT and Rs 27.34 lakh for the Accomplished Plus Dark AT. With its 2-liter diesel engine producing 170 PS and 350 Nm, the Safari is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front and back seats, and a motorized door that can be opened with a gesture. The Safari also offers advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) but currently misses out on the lane keep assist feature, which will be introduced later via an update.

Hyundai Alcazar 

The Hyundai Alcazar is the most affordable option among the four SUVs, with its 6-seater petrol variants priced between Rs 19.99 lakh for the Platinum (O) DCT and Rs 22.68 lakh for the Savvy Pro CVT. The diesel variants start at Rs 20.81 lakh for the Platinum (O) AT and go up to Rs 25.94 lakh for the Accomplished Plus Dark AT. The Alcazar is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (160 PS / 253 Nm) or a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116 PS / 250 Nm). Wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, and adjustable LED headlights are just a few of its features. The Alcazar stands out with its 8-way adjustable powered driver’s seat and six airbags as standard across all variants.

MG Hector Plus

The MG Hector Plus offers a competitive package in the 6-seater SUV segment, with its petrol variants starting at Rs 20.34 lakh for the Sharp Pro MT and going up to Rs 22.68 lakh for the Savvy Pro CVT. The diesel variants are priced between Rs 21 lakh for the Smart Pro MT and Rs 27.34 lakh for the Accomplished Plus Dark AT. The Hector Plus is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (143 PS / 250 Nm) or a 2-litre diesel engine (170 PS / 350 Nm). It features a vertically oriented 14-inch touchscreen display, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The Hector Plus also offers a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat.
