Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 to Get Perak's 334cc BS6 Engine

Jawa has recently launched the Perak Bobber with a BS6-compliant engine in the Indian market at a price tag of INR 1.94 lakhs (ex-showroom). The bookings of the most anticipated bobber from the brand will start from January 1, 2020, while the deliveries are promised after April 2, 2020. In addition to this, the latest reports suggest that the brand will borrow the 334cc BS6-compliant engine from the Perak Bobber for the upcoming Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty-Two motorcycle variants. The new 334cc variants of Jawa 42 and Classic are expected to launch in the Indian market by mid-2020. Currently, the Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 are powered by a BS4-compliant 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable to develop a maximum power of 27HP and a peak torque of 28Nm. On the other hand, the 334cc BS6 engine on the Perak Bobber is good for 30HP of maximum power and 31 Nm of maximum torque. Retaining the same suspension bits with telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided spring suspension at the rear, the new higher displacement variants of Jawa Forty Two and Cassic are expected to feature disc brakes at either end mated to dual-channel ABS as standard.
