1. New Color Option: Elevating the Aesthetics

The first highlight of the 2024 Mahindra XUV700 is the introduction of a striking new color option. Additionally, we consider the preferences of the discerning Indian consumer and the role color plays in influencing purchasing decisions. Another addition to the XUV700 comes in the form of the new Napoli Black colour that makes quite an impression. While this paint option is available across all variants, opting for the higher-end AX7 and AX7L variants will result in all the shiny elements on the grille and wheels have also been blacked out, adding to the stealth factor. These two variants also get a dark chrome finish around the AC vents and central console. Don’t prefer the black hue? Fret not, as the aforementioned higher-end variants now get the dual-tone colour option with a blacked-out roof that makes it look sportier.

2. Addressing Feature Gaps: Enhancing the Driving Experience

In a market where features are a key differentiator, Mahindra has identified and addressed a crucial feature gap in the XUV700. From in-cabin technology to safety enhancements, we evaluate how Mahindra's response to customer feedback positions the XUV700 as a more competitive and feature-rich option in its segment.

Probably one of the biggest updates for the XUV700, in our opinion, is the introduction of a six-seater option featuring captain seats in the middle row. A much-needed addition, considering all its competitors such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar get this option. The XUV700’s six-seater option is limited to the top-spec AX7 and AX7L variants.

One more important enhancement made to the SUV is the introduction of ventilated front seats. Apart from that, the XUV700’s connected car tech has been updated with even more features as well via a firmware update. Lastly, the positioning of the ORVMs can also be saved to the driver seat’s memory function (both limited to the top-spec variant), which is useful when multiple people use the car.

3. The Competitive Landscape: Benchmarking Against Rivals

To understand the significance of Mahindra's move, we benchmark the 2024 XUV700 against its rivals. How does the new color option and feature upgrade stack up against similar offerings from competing SUVs?

4. Design Philosophy

The introduction of the new color option also provides an opportunity to delve into the Mahindra's design philosophy. How does the brand balance traditional elements with modern aesthetics in the XUV700?

5. Customer Feedback and Brand Loyalty: Strengthening the Connection

Mahindra's responsiveness to customer feedback and its commitment to continuous improvement are critical elements in building brand loyalty.

6. Future Implications: Setting the Tone for Success

As the 2024 Mahindra XUV700 hits the market with these notable enhancements, we consider the future implications for Mahindra in the SUV segment.

All of these updates now make the Mahindra XUV700 a better overall package, but we feel bits like the black hue, captain seats and ventilated front seats should’ve been offered from day one. The XUV700 locks horns with the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar while being an SUV alternative to models like the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Suzuki Invicto.
