2024 Kia Sonet Brochure Reveals Comprehensive Details – New Features and Enhanced Safety

Kia is set to unveil the new Sonet facelift globally today, on the 14th of December. Ahead of its official debut, the brochure has been leaked online, revealing fresh details about the Sonet's updated styling and enhanced features.

What’s New in the Kia Sonet Facelift

Safety receives a substantial boost with the inclusion of a 360° camera and a blind-view monitor in the cluster. Notably, the Sonet facelift becomes the second sub-4m SUV to feature ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) Level 1, with 10 autonomous functions. Earlier this year, ADAS was introduced in the Hyundai Venue. The ADAS kit on the Sonet includes forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning, and leading vehicle departure alert.

Standard safety features consist of front, side, and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start to assist control, a rearview camera with guidelines, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The equipment list is extensive, encompassing a 4-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch LCD instrument console, a Bose Premium sound system with 7 speakers, a Smart pure air purifier, electric sunroof, and Alexa voice commands. The interior is offered in three distinct colors and seat patterns for the Tech Line and one each for the GT Line and X Line.

Exterior Changes

The Sonet facelift showcases refreshed exteriors, featuring changes to the headlamps, DRLs, and bumpers. Except for a new alloy wheel design, the side profile is essentially unchanged. At the rear, the facelifted Sonet receives updated tail lamps, a full-width LED lighting element, and a refreshed bumper. A new Pewter Olive color option has been introduced, bringing the total color choices to 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone options.

Performance and Specifications

Trims remain consistent with the Sonet facelift – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line. Engine options include the 1.2-liter NA petrol motor generating 82 bhp and 115 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm, available with 6iMT and 7DCT transmissions. The 1.5-liter diesel engine delivers 114 bhp and 250 Nm, with transmission choices of 6iMT, 6AT, and the return of the 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Sonet facelift features traction modes of Sand, Mud, and Wet, along with drive modes including Normal, Eco, and Sports, exclusive to automatic variants. Automatic variants also offer paddle shifters. The official launch of the new Sonet is scheduled for next month, when the official prices will be announced.
