2024 Kia Carnival Facelift: Exclusive First Glimpse at Exterior Changes

Kia has unveiled the first images of the 2024 Carnival facelift's exterior design. This new version of the fourth-generation Carnival, which was displayed at the Auto Expo 2023 in India, features several updates. Kia has revealed the exterior images of the facelifted 2024 Carnival, which includes a range of updates inspired by the updated Seltos and the new EV9 electric SUV. This refreshed version of the fourth-generation Carnival was previously showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 in India. While it's unclear whether the Carnival will be introduced in India, Kia has expressed its intention to assess customer feedback and consider the launch.

Key Changes to the 2024 Kia Carnival

  • Front End: The new Carnival showcases a significantly revised front end. It now includes a wider grille flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps with a distinctive L-shaped DRL signature. The front bumper has been tweaked to enhance the vehicle's SUV-like appearance.
  • Profile: While the side profile remains largely similar to the outgoing model, the alloy wheels have been updated and now resemble those on the EV9.
  • Rear Design: The rear of the Carnival features connected LED taillights, which draw inspiration from the design elements seen on the Seltos.

Expected Interior Updates

Although Kia has not yet revealed the interiors of the 2024 Carnival, it's anticipated that the MPV will receive updates such as a new color scheme and upholstery finish. Similar to the previous version, the new Carnival is expected to offer multiple seating layouts to cater to various customer preferences.

Powertrain Details

Internationally, the Kia Carnival comes with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine. However, for the Indian market, the 200PS 2.2-liter diesel engine is expected to be the sole powertrain. This engine will send power to the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Expected Pricing and Competition

If the new Kia Carnival is launched in India, it is estimated to be priced from around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, it would go up against the Toyota Innova Crysta, including the hybrid variant known as the Innova Hycross. Kia has previously expressed interest in gauging customer response before making a decision about launching the Carnival in India.
