The Mahindra Xylo E2 was eventually discontinued due to the implementation of BS6 emission norms, as the company decided not to upgrade the older models to comply with the new regulations. This marked the end of an era for the Xylo in India. I think it was a necessary step, but its sad to see such a popular model go.

Mahindra & Mahindra priced the Xylo E2 competitively, with prices starting from around Rs. 6.62 lakh and going up to Rs. 9.62 lakh for the top variants. This pricing strategy helped the Xylo to remain a viable option in the Indian market.

The updated Mahindra Xylo E2 in 2012 also saw improvements in fuel economy, with ARAI mileage ranging from 11.38 to 12.1 kmpl depending on the engine variant. This was a significant improvement and made the vehicle more attractive to fuel-conscious buyers.

The Mahindra Xylo E2 received a facelift in early 2012, which included 50 new features and some design changes to enhance its appeal. The new design lines and additional features were aimed at boosting sales. I think the facelift was necessary to keep the Xylo competitive in the evolving MPV market.

In 2011, the Mahindra Xylo E2 was updated with a new gearbox and the modern M-Hawk turbo diesel 2.2L engine in higher variants. This update significantly improved the vehicles performance and efficiency. I believe this was a crucial step in competing with other MPVs in the market.

Mahindra & Mahindra launched the Xylo Celebration II Edition in March 2011 to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the Xylo. This special edition came with additional features and cosmetic upgrades. I think this move was a great way to keep the Xylo fresh in the market.
