Tuesday, 23 April 2024 02:25 PM The Mahindra Bolero Neo received a 1-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests in April 2024, which is the lowest rating for a Mahindra passenger vehicle since the Scorpio’s zero-star performance in 2016. This raises concerns about the vehicles safety features. I think Mahindra needs to focus more on enhancing safety standards.
Tuesday, 16 April 2024 06:09 AM The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus was launched in India on April 16, 2024, with prices starting at Rs. 11.39 lakh for the P4 variant and Rs. 12.49 lakh for the P10 variant. This 9-seater SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 118bhp and 280Nm of torque. I think this launch will attract buyers looking for a spacious and rugged vehicle.
Tuesday, 16 April 2024 10:50 AM Mahindra plans to launch the civilian version of the Bolero Neo Plus in the first half of 2024, with a expected price range of Rs. 13 lakh to Rs. 16 lakh. The vehicle will compete with other affordable 7-seaters like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens. I think this launch will be significant for Mahindras lineup.
Tuesday, 16 April 2024 11:39 AM The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will come with side-facing jump seats in the third row, providing a 9-seater layout. It is expected to retain the 2.2-litre diesel engine from the ambulance version, producing 118bhp and 280Nm of torque. I believe this seating arrangement will be a major selling point.
Wednesday, 20 September 2023 05:02 PM Mahindra introduced the Bolero Neo Plus as an ambulance version in September 2023, with a starting price of Rs. 13.99 lakh. This move highlights Mahindras efforts to diversify the Bolero Neos applications. I believe this ambulance version will be a valuable addition to the healthcare sector.
Saturday, 07 August 2021 06:02 PM Mahindra announced that the Bolero Neo has achieved over 5,500 bookings since its launch in August 2021. This indicates strong market demand for the vehicle. The prices for the Bolero Neo range from Rs. 8.48 lakh to Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). I believe this popularity is due to its rugged design and reliable performance.
Sunday, 18 July 2021 05:05 PM The Mahindra Bolero Neo is available in four broad variants: N4, N8, N10, and N10(O), with prices ranging between Rs. 9.90 lakh and Rs. 12.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle features a 1.5-litre diesel engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, and a range of safety features including dual front airbags and rear parking sensors. I think the variety of variants will appeal to different segments of buyers.
Wednesday, 14 July 2021 02:24 PM Ceat became the official tyre supplier for the Mahindra Bolero Neo in July 2021, providing the CZAR HP range of tyres in 217/75 R15 size. This partnership aims to enhance the vehicles performance and durability. I believe this is a good move to ensure consistent quality.
Tuesday, 13 July 2021 08:09 AM Mahindra launched the Bolero Neo in July 2021, positioning it as a subcompact SUV that replaces the TUV300. The vehicle targets upwardly mobile semi-urban buyers with its diesel-only model and rugged styling. I think this strategy will help Mahindra tap into a broader market.
Wednesday, 14 July 2021 12:32 AM The Mahindra Bolero Neo features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver seat, and keyless entry. It also includes safety features such as dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child mounts. I believe these features make it a competitive option in its segment.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Review

13 Dec, 2022 05:24 AM

Synopsis

Mahindra & Mahindra has enlarged the Bolero family with the introduction of the Bolero Neo. The new seven-seater SUV is simply a facelifted version of the TUV300, but with visual changes, new features, and a new name. The Bolero Neo is also aimed at a more sophisticated clientele who desires the roughness of the Bolero but with greater creature amenities.

In profile, the new Mahindra Bolero Neo looks identical to the TUV300, but there are numerous alterations to the front and back of the SUV. It is based on Scorpio and Thar's third-generation ladder-on-frame chassis. Visual changes include re-profiled headlamps with static bending headlights and DRLs, vertical slats in the chrome grille, bringing the model in line with the Bolero family, and a redesigned bumper to accommodate the new fog lamp housing and a wider air intake. The Bolero Neo also has the Bolero's characteristic body cladding, new alloy wheels, a dynamic rear spoiler, and an X-themed spare wheel cover.

2023 Bolero Neo's cabin has experienced substantial improvements over the TUV300. The most noticeable difference is the premium-looking twin-pod instrument cluster with a MID in the centre. On the centre console, there's also a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with silver accents. The seats are upholstered in luxury fabric, and the front and second-row seats have an armrest. A tilt-adjustable steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver's seat, front and rear power windows, a remote lock, and keyless entry are all included. The vehicle also includes two rear jump seats that can be folded to provide room for goods.

The 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine produces 100 hp at 3,750 rpm and 260 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,250 rpm in the Mahindra Bolero Neo. This 1.5L mHawk100 diesel engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. The N4, N8, and N10 models have power delivered to the rear wheels, while the N10 (O) will have Multi-Terrain Technology (MTT). A limited-slip differential (LSD) provides power to either rear tyre, allowing the SUV to easily navigate rough terrain. There are also the ESS (micro-hybrid) and ECO modes, which claim to improve fuel efficiency. Mahindra claims a fuel efficiency of 17.29 kmpl.

2023 Mahindra Bolero Neo is made of high-strength steel and includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, automatic door locks, high-speed warning, cornering brake control, and other features. ISOFIX child seat anchor mounts, follow me home headlamps, seatbelt reminder, and a digital immobilizer is also included on higher-end models.

2023 Mahindra Bolero Neo is available in four variants, namely N4, N8, N10 and N10 (O). Mahindra offers the Bolero Neo in six colours - Rocky Beige, Majestic Silver, Highway Red, Pearl White, Diamond White, and Napoli Black and the colour options are not the same for different variants. The Bolero Neo competes with vehicles such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, and Honda WR-V.

FAQs

Most Popular FAQs for Mahindra Bolero Neo
  • Is the Bolero Neo Plus a more sensible bet than newer compact SUVs costing around the same?

    27 December 2024 08:13

You all forget about maintenance costs. The Neo Plus is easy and inexpensive to fix. But those high tech SUVs are going to be a fortune to maintain out of warranty.

  • While the Bolero Neo Plus is no match to other budget SUVs off the road, it does manage to keep you afloat.

    27 December 2024 08:13

Surprisingly capable off road! It has the great high ground clearance and robust suspension and makes a good use while riding rough trails. It's not a Thar, for sure, but it will handle most situations the average user will encounter.

  • Is the basic interior of the Bolero Neo Plus outdated, or is it a selling point for who it is targeting?

    27 December 2024 08:13

Come on, it's 2024. Touchscreens are even on budget cars now. The Neo Plus feels like it's from the past. The interior is pretty basic; although they’ve managed to charge $72k for them, I struggle to see any justification for that price.

  • Is the Bolero Neo Plus just a stretched Bolero Neo or does it bring something new to the table?

    27 December 2024 08:13

It's definitely more than a stretched Neo. The Plus has genuine 9 seater capability, that’s a rarity at this price point. That extra row makes a huge difference for large families or small business.

  • Does the Bolero Neo Plus make sense for urban areas or is it a rural product?

    27 December 2024 08:13

To be honest, it doesn’t look like it’s winning any style points in the city. But for practicality? It's hard to beat. If you run a small business or need to move a lot of people at once, this is especially important.

  • Is the lack of modern features like the Bolero Neo's, more reliable in the long run?

    27 December 2024 08:02

Don’t romanticize the lack of features. Safety tech saves lives. I'd rather have a reliable death trap that is only once in a while is going to need a repair than a car with modern safety features.

  • Is a 1 star NCAP rating for the Bolero Neo a deal breaker for family buyers?

    27 December 2024 08:02

It's not the build quality which got the 1 star, it's the lack of safety features. But if Mahindra made airbags and ABS standard, it would probably score much higher.

  • Is the Bolero Neo's design right in the middle of classic Bolero ruggedness and modern aesthetics?

    27 December 2024 08:02

It is the perfect design for its intended market. Boleros are bought by people who want the tough, no nonsense look. Whatever was too fancy would scare off the core buyers.

  • Does the price tag for the Bolero Neo add up to its features and abilities as one of the compact SUVs ruling the market?

    27 December 2024 08:02

It’s priced fairly for what it offers, and Mahindra needs to focus on the safety features in order to justify the high end price. Put a couple of airbags on it and better NCAP rating and it'd be a no brainer.

  • Is the Bolero Neo really an SUV or just another fancy matchbox on wheels?

    27 December 2024 08:02

It's definitely a true SUV! It has proper off road chops thanks to the body on frame construction and rear wheel drive setup. Mine have handled some pretty tough terrain and I have yet to have an issue.
