Wednesday, 13 November 2024 04:10 PM Mahindra is set to launch the BE 6e, a new electric SUV, on November 26, 2024, at the Unlimit India World Premiere event in Chennai. The BE 6e will feature a twin-screen setup with 12.3-inch floating displays, a flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo, and a massive glass roof. It will also come with multiple battery options, including 60 kWh and 79 kWh, and single or dual-motor configurations. I think the dual-screen setup will be a game-changer in terms of interior tech.
Monday, 04 November 2024 10:12 PM The BE 6e will be built on Mahindras new Electric Origin INGLO architecture, designed with an Indian heart and a global outlook. This platform promises class-leading safety standards, high performance, and efficient range, delivering a multi-sensory driving experience. The BE 6e is expected to rival other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV. I believe the INGLO architecture will set a new benchmark for electric vehicles in India.
Sunday, 03 November 2024 04:32 PM Mahindra has teased the interiors of the BE 6e, showcasing sleek air-con vents, ambient lighting, an illuminated centre console, and an illuminated drive selector. The vehicle will also feature multi-zone climate control and electronic parking brake. These features suggest a premium and futuristic cabin experience.
Friday, 25 October 2024 09:04 AM The BE 6e is expected to measure around 4.3 meters in length, with dimensions similar to the concept version unveiled last year. It will be positioned above the XUV 400 in Mahindra’s EV portfolio and will compete with upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. I think its size will make it a compelling option in the mid-size SUV segment.
Sunday, 15 September 2024 05:43 PM Mahindra announced that the BE 6e will have a driving range of up to 450 km on a single charge, with fast charging capability. This range, combined with its performance-focused design, makes it an attractive choice for those looking for a reliable electric SUV. I believe the range will be a key selling point for this vehicle.
Monday, 15 August 2022 11:34 PM The BE 6e was first unveiled as a pre-production concept in August 2022 in London, along with other models in the Born Electric lineup. Since then, Mahindra has been working on bringing these concepts to production. The launch of the BE 6e marks a significant step in Mahindra’s electric vehicle strategy.

FAQs

Most Popular FAQs for Mahindra Electric BE
  • Will the BE 6's 682 km range really hold up in real world conditions?

    09 January 2025 11:10

Just remember that even if it doesn’t reach 682 km, the BE 6 still has fast charging. It’s not a deal breaker if you can charge quickly on long trips, and the real world range is just a little bit lower.

  • How does the BE 6’s ADAS stack up against systems in other established EV brands?

    09 January 2025 11:10

It will have to be tested on Indian road conditions. This is a system tuned for our chaotic traffic and road markings (or lack thereof) and this could actually outperform the foreign systems here.

  • Can the BE 6’s Auto Park Assist feature actually be of use in Indian parking situations?

    09 January 2025 11:10

The thing I worry about is people relying on it too much. What happens when it doesn’t detect a small obstacle such as a rock or a steep curb? In fact, it could actually create more problems than it solves.

  • Is the premium of the BE 6 Pack Three worth the cost over lower variants?

    09 January 2025 11:10

The Pack Three is totally worth it if you can afford, disagree. The more impressive part is that 79 kWh battery, which completely eliminates range anxiety, and the premium features like ADAS and the panoramic sunroof really make the car feel like a premium product. You get what you pay for.

  • How does the BE 6’s in car camera feature stack up against Tesla’s cabin camera?

    09 January 2025 11:10

What I’m more interested in is how this camera could develop in future updates. Could driver monitoring features be added later by Mahindra? It would make it more similar to Tesla’s implementation.

  • How practical is the BE 6e's unique styling?

    31 December 2024 10:05

I wouldn't mind that sloping roof, but I would bet that tall people will hate sitting in the back. Style is less important than practicality for a family SUV.

  • Will Mahindra be able to back up the BE 6e's promised range and performance?

    31 December 2024 10:05

The 0-100 time is impressive, but I suspect that repeated hard accelerations will kill it. When necessary ESVs can also throttle back to protect the battery.

  • Is the Mahindra BE 6e’s futuristic design a hit or miss?

    31 December 2024 10:05

It's way too much for me. I prefer a more classic look. Everything here feels like it's trying a little too hard to be 'the future,' and will look dated really fast.

  • How does the BE 6e stack up performance wise against similarly priced ICE SUVs?

    31 December 2024 10:05

The BE 6e is impressive, but it's a different kind of performance, as someone who's driven both. On twisty roads I miss the engine sound and gear changes of an ICE, but it’s great for city driving.

  • The BE 6e will be a premium priced device, will its advanced features justify it?

    31 December 2024 10:05

That’s a big deal, because these are over the air updates. This means that the car can get better over time, which could explain the higher up front cost.
