Hyundai i10 Diesel (2013)

About
The 2013 Hyundai Grand i10 Diesel is a well-rounded compact hatchback that offers a blend of style, comfort, and performance. Its 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine is quiet and efficient, providing smooth gear shifts and good pulling power in lower gears. The car features a fluidic design with indicators in ORVMs, sporty roof rails, and alloy-like wheel caps, giving it a premium look. Inside, it boasts a spacious interior with a dual-color dashboard, rear AC vents, and comfortable seating for four, with the option to accommodate a fifth person. The boot space is impressive, capable of holding two big suitcases. The ride quality is good, especially in city drives, and the handling has been improved significantly. However, it lacks essential safety features like ABS and airbags in lower variants, which is a notable drawback. Despite this, the Grand i10 Diesel remains a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and feature-rich hatchback.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The 2013 Hyundai Grand i10 Diesel is a compelling option in the compact hatchback segment, especially for those seeking a balance of style, comfort, and performance. The 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine delivers a quiet and smooth drive, with decent power output of 72 BHP, making it suitable for both city and highway driving. The cars aerodynamic design, inspired by the Hyundai Verna, and features like rear AC vents, dual-color dashboard, and impressive boot space, set it apart from its competitors. However, areas for improvement include the lack of ABS and airbags in lower variants, and the somewhat uncomfortable seats on long drives. Overall, its a great choice for those looking for a value-for-money vehicle with good fuel economy and comfortable driving experience.
Price
The 2013 Hyundai Grand i10 Diesel was priced competitively in the Indian market. At the time of its launch, the ex-showroom price for the base variant started around 5.5 lakh, while the top variant, the Asta, was priced around 7.5 lakh. On-road prices varied depending on the state and city, but generally, you could expect to pay around 6.5 lakh to 8.5 lakh for the base and top variants respectively. Considering the features, performance, and comfort it offers, the Grand i10 Diesel was a strong contender in its segment, providing good value for money.

Hyundai
has hit it off fairly well with its new range of products, the 'i'
series. The i10 was essentially a replacement for the Santro, and the
i20 does the same with the Getz. Hyundai hasn't been known for its
diesel hatches, although its sedans have sold appreciably.

Comfort is the main priority when one wants to buy a car. The Hyundai
Eon certainly does not fit in this criteria. It is possibly the most
uncomfortable car there is. Really bad suspension & highly cramped
interiors.
