Hyundai has discontinued the production of the Hyundai Accent in India, a decision made due to the cars failure to receive timely facelifts and the rising popularity of other Hyundai models like the i20. The Accent, which was launched about 14 years ago, lost its charm and was eventually removed from Hyundais official website. I think this was a necessary move to focus on more competitive models in the market.

Hyundai Accent CNG owners appreciated the cars low maintenance costs and the availability of a nationwide aftersales network. The Hyundai Accent CNG was part of Hyundais effort to offer environmentally friendly and cost-effective vehicles in India. The CNG variant was seen as a more eco-friendly option compared to petrol-powered cars. I think this was a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done to promote such vehicles.

In terms of safety, the Hyundai Accent CNG came equipped with basic features such as ABS, rear parking assist, and dual airbags. While these were sufficient at the time, they are now considered minimal compared to modern safety standards. I believe that safety should always be a top priority, and this is where the Accent fell short.
