The 2020 Honda WR-V facelift, which includes the Diesel SV variant, was launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 8.50 lakh for the petrol and going up to Rs. 12.31 lakh for the top diesel VX model. The Diesel SV variant is priced at Rs. 11.27 lakh. This update brought refreshed styling, new features, and BS6 compliant engines. I believe the updated features and compliance with BS6 norms make it a more attractive option for buyers looking for a reliable and environmentally friendly vehicle.

Honda Cars India had to postpone the launch of the 2020 Honda WR-V facelift from April to July due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the delay, the company had already begun accepting bookings for the new WR-V facelift. The Diesel SV variant, along with other models, was highly anticipated for its enhanced features and updated engines. I think the delay was a necessary step to ensure safety, and the eventual launch was well-received by the market.

The Honda WR-V, including the Diesel SV variant, has been a successful model in India, with over 23,000 bookings received shortly after its launch in 2017. To meet the demand, Honda increased production from 3,400 units to 5,000 units per month. This surge in bookings highlighted the vehicles popularity and practicality. I believe the WR-Vs spacious cabin and comfort features were key factors in its success.

Honda began production of the WR-V in India at their Tapukara facility in Rajasthan in January 2017, with the launch scheduled for March of the same year. The Diesel SV variant was part of this initial production run, marking Hondas entry into the subcompact SUV segment. I think this move was strategic, as it helped Honda tap into a growing market segment in India.
