Honda Cars India has confirmed that the Honda Elevate EV, codenamed DG9D, will be launched in India in 2026. This electric SUV will be based on the existing Honda Elevate and will be part of Hondas ACE (Asian Compact Electric) project. It is expected to compete with the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti e-Vitara. I think this move will significantly boost Hondas presence in the EV market in India.

The Honda Elevate EV will use the same platform as its ICE counterpart, featuring a higher tensile steel application for enhanced collision safety, balance, stability, and handling. The EV is anticipated to have a battery pack ranging between 40kWh – 50kWh, offering a range of over 400km on a full charge. It will likely come with a front-mounted electric motor and a FWD system.
