Honda Cars India has confirmed that the third-generation Honda Amaze will be launched on December 4, 2024, and it will not offer a diesel engine option, aligning with Hondas decision to discontinue diesel engines in India. The new Amaze will feature a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. I think this move will cater well to the shifting consumer preference towards petrol engines in the sub-compact sedan segment.

Honda Cars India has announced that the new Amaze will compete directly with the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. The Amaze is expected to offer advanced features like Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and connected car technology to rival its competitors. I think the inclusion of these features will make the Amaze a strong contender in the sub-compact sedan market.

The upcoming Honda Amaze will have a significantly updated design, inspired by the Honda Accord and City, with a new hexagonal grille, sleek LED headlights, and a chrome bar running above the grille. This design shift aims to give the Amaze a more aggressive and premium look. I believe this new design will help the Amaze stand out in a competitive market.

Honda has released a teaser for the 2024 Amaze, showcasing its front fascia with muscular creases on the bonnet and sportier bumper design. The interior is expected to feature a redesigned layout, possibly including a larger touchscreen infotainment system and other premium features like an electric sunroof. I think these updates will make the Amaze more appealing to modern buyers.

The new Honda Amaze will be based on the same platform as the Honda City and Elevate, but with modifications to keep it under the 4-meter mark. This platform consolidation is expected to streamline Hondas India lineup and improve economies of scale. I believe this strategic move will help Honda maintain its competitive edge.
