This update was marketed as the New Palio and featured minor changes in the instrument panel. The new Palio also introduced the Torque engines and a sporty version, the 1.8R, with a flexible 1.8-L engine from GM. I think this facelift was a significant step in keeping the Palio competitive in the market.

I think this was an innovative move towards sustainability.
