It hasn't evolved honestly. It still looks dated compared to its rivals. If Nissan want to remain relevant, they need to step it up.

Nissan has managed to keep the Sunny up to date, while retaining its basic identity as a reliable, affordable sedan, I think. It's not cutting edge and doesn’t need to be.

Evolution of the Sunny has been more about refinement than revolution. It’s a bit better each generation, but there’s been no game changing update.

The Sunny has improved greatly on interior space. For their class, the newer models are surprisingly roomy.

The problem is, Sunny has not evolved as fast as consumer expectations. Now people want more tech and style even in budget cars, and the Sunny hasn't quite caught up.

I’d say that the Sunny has actually regressed in some regards. But they had more character, and were more fun to drive. The new ones are just bland.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
Of course, it's a big, powerful SUV that drinks fuel. If you buy a Patrol, you already know what you're dealing with. It's not meant to be a Prius.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
This day and age, the fuel consumption is ridiculous. At least a hybrid option is what Nissan should do. That kind of gas guzzling is hard to justify anymore.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
It’s a concern, but I won’t lose sleep over it. The fuel costs are nothing compared to the reliability and capability of the Patrol. And I don't daily drive it around the city, either.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
It depends I think, where you live. In the Gulf countries where fuel is cheap, it’s not a big deal. But Europe or parts of Asia? Most people will probably consider it as a deal breaker.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?

The fuel consumption sucks, but at the end of the day, people buying Patrols aren't too fussed about it. It is more of the status and capability.
The Nissan Patrol's fuel consumption, is it a deal breaker in today's eco conscious world?
06 January 2025 09:25
It's definitely an issue. My Patrol is great, but the fuel bills aren't. If Nissan made a hybrid version with the same capability, I'd switch to that in a heartbeat.

Some markets get the V6 option as a good compromise. Not as thirsty as the V8, but still powerful enough. I wish they'd offer that everywhere.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
Kia is going a bit overboard with the pricing, I think. Yes, you get a lot of features, but at the end of the day, it’s still a sub 4m SUV. You could get a decent mid size SUV with more space and road presence for 18 lakhs.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
I find the Sonet worth every penny as a tech and comfort features person. In this segment, where else do you get ventilated seats, huge touchscreen, ADAS? It's like a mini luxury car.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
The problem is Kia has priced the Sonet in a segment where it doesn’t belong. Now it's competing with larger cars, and that's a tough sell no matter how many features you pack in.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
People are missing the point, I think. The Sonet isn’t just about the features, it’s about the complete package. It offers a quality, refinement and driving experience a step or two above most rivals. That’s what you’re paying for.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
It's all about priorities. The Sonet is good if you want the latest tech and are willing to give up a bit of space. If you need a practical family car though there are better options at this price.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
I didn't want to pay the price, but test driving the Sonet and a couple of the other larger SUVs, I decided on the Sonet. The features and quality make the daily drive so much more enjoyable. No regrets.
Is the Kia Sonet worth the premium it commands?
03 January 2025 12:35
The best value is had by the base and mid variants of the Sonet. The value proposition gets questionable once you get to the top trims. If you want the Sonet experience, but don’t want to break the bank, stick to the lower variants.
