Is the premium of the BE 6 Pack Three worth the cost over lower variants?

I honestly think most buyers are going to find the Pack Three to be overkill. You probably will get 80% of the features for the base variant at a much more attractive price. If you don’t absolutely need the 682 km range, the lower variants appear to be better value.

The Pack Three is totally worth it if you can afford, disagree. The more impressive part is that 79 kWh battery, which completely eliminates range anxiety, and the premium features like ADAS and the panoramic sunroof really make the car feel like a premium product. You get what you pay for.

It's a tough call. Some of the features of the Pack Three are compelling, but the price jump is big. It really depends on how you use it, if you do a lot of long trips and want the latest tech by all means go for it. Otherwise, the lower variants can be used.

I’m actually more interested in the Pack Two. It's going to be somewhere in between features and price, I imagine. The Pack Three appears to be for early adopters who are looking for the best of everything.
Is the premium of the BE 6 Pack Three worth the cost over lower variants?

Let’s be real, most people buying an EV in this price range, want the top variant, for the bragging rights. It will sell well because it’s the ‘best’ one, and it doesn’t matter if it’s actually worth it.
But will the Himalayan 650 command a price premium over the 411, as expected?
09 January 2025 10:54
It will be a steal if they keep it under 4 lakhs. After that, you might as well be shopping for used Versys 650s or V Stroms.
But will the Himalayan 650 command a price premium over the 411, as expected?

Just for the engine upgrade it will be worth it. It’s great on the 411, but it falls down on highways. It will make the 650 a true all rounder.
But will the Himalayan 650 command a price premium over the 411, as expected?
09 January 2025 10:54
It depends on what else they upgrade. If it's just an engine swap probably not. If they can improve the suspension brakes and electronics, it could be quite a deal.
But will the Himalayan 650 command a price premium over the 411, as expected?

I'm skeptical. The Himalayan is also affordable, which is part of its charm. If they price it too high it will lose that everyman appeal that made it so popular.

It's all relative. It will probably still undercut the big adventure bikes by a lot even if it's pricier. It could be a great middle ground for those who want more power than a KLR or DL650, but can’t justify spending big bucks on a GS or Africa Twin.
Is the Himalayan 450 worth its price bump over the previous model with new features and performance?
09 January 2025 10:50
I believe RE has priced the 450 too high. The Himalayan may have more features and power, but part of the point of the Himalayan was it was affordable. But now it's up against bikes from more established adventure bike makers, and I'm not sure it measures up at that price.
Is the Himalayan 450 worth its price bump over the previous model with new features and performance?
09 January 2025 10:50
In my opinion the price increase is totally justified. The 450 is an absolute massive upgrade in every way: engine, chassis, electronics, build quality and so on. It's still a heck of a lot cheaper than most 'proper' adventure bikes and offers similar capabilities. You get a lot of bike for the money.
Is the Himalayan 450 worth its price bump over the previous model with new features and performance?
09 January 2025 10:50
I have both and I’d say the 450 is worth the extra money if you have it. It's just a more refined capable machine. In real world riding the improved engine and suspension make a huge difference by themselves. And with the better components, it’ll probably hold its value better too.
Is the Himalayan 450 worth its price bump over the previous model with new features and performance?

I'm torn on this. The 450 is definitely a better bike, but it’s lost some of the Himalayan’s charm. The 411 was about affordable adventure, the 450 is going after a different market. It’s not the budget friendly option that the original was, but it’s still good value.

But you have to think about what you get for that price hike. It’s not a bumped up 411, it’s an entirely new bike. Feature for feature, it's still a bargain when you compare it to other adventure bikes. I think RE had to raise the price to make all these improvements and I think they've hit a good balance.
Will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 sound the same iconic 'thump' as the larger brothers?
09 January 2025 09:11
There's no way it'll have the same thump. That s not how physics works. It'll probably sound more like a sewing machine' she says.
Will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 sound the same iconic 'thump' as the larger brothers?

RE engineers aren't dumb. I'm sure they've put in a ton of work to get as close to the classic thump as possible.
Will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 sound the same iconic 'thump' as the larger brothers?

Who cares about the thump? In 2025 we should be looking at performance and efficiency, not noise.
Will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 sound the same iconic 'thump' as the larger brothers?

That thump could be different, and that might be a good thing. It may have its own thing that people will be into.
Will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 sound the same iconic 'thump' as the larger brothers?

I'm concerned that they’ll overdo it with the thump, and come up with something that sounds fake. It’s better to allow it to have its own voice.
