Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO’s torque boost feature really useful, or just a gimmick?
07 January 2025 11:06
It’s nice to have the boost in torque but it isn’t a must have. It’s fun to use every once in a while, but I don’t find myself really relying on it in the day to day riding.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO’s torque boost feature really useful, or just a gimmick?

I suppose I’d be concerned about running the torque boost a lot and it hurting fuel efficiency. I’m a bit suspicious as TVS hasn’t been very clear about how it affects mileage.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO really worth all the hype?

I've had the Raider for a few months now and in all honesty it's pretty solid for what it is. Although I'm getting decent mileage, the engine is peppy enough for city riding. It's not going to blow your socks off, but as a 125cc it's fun to ride.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO really worth all the hype?
07 January 2025 11:06
Nah, it's overhyped. I tried one out and wasn't impressed. At higher speeds it was annoying and in some areas the build quality was a bit cheap. With a Honda SP125 or even stretching your budget a bit for a 150cc bike, you’re in a better position.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO really worth all the hype?

It kind of depends what you are looking for. The Raider is a commuter if you want something with a little style. The digital display is nice, and the LED lights are actually pretty good. It won’t compete with bigger bikes, but it doesn’t want to.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO really worth all the hype?

The hype is real, if you want a 125cc bike. I went from an old Splendor to this one and the difference is almost night and day. It has a very comfortable riding position and overall handles fine in traffic. It looks way cooler than most other commuters, plus.
Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO really worth all the hype?

I sit on the fence when it comes to this one. The Raider has some nice features, but for the price you pay it’s a little steep. It would be a no brainer if they priced it a bit lower. Right now, you definitely need to go test ride it and see how it compares to other options.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?
07 January 2025 11:06
I honestly haven’t missed having a kick starter on my Raider. The reliability of electric start has been good, and one less thing to worry about maintenance wise. It also makes the bike look cleaner.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?
07 January 2025 11:06
It's a deal-breaker for me. I've had batteries die and a kick starter saved the day. It is a gamble by TVS to remove it, especially for a commuter bike that might be used in rural areas.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?
07 January 2025 11:06
I had my doubts, but after riding for a few months I don't think it's a big deal. Modern bikes are pretty reliable, and the battery life has been good. It’s one thing less to maintain.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?
07 January 2025 11:06
I understand the move to all electric start, but I do feel TVS should have kept the kick starter as an option. And it’s not just about reliability, some riders just like that mechanical connection to the bike.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?

I don't like removing the kick starter as someone who has had to deal with dead batteries before. It's not like you need it 99% of the time, but that 1% can be a real pain when you’re stuck somewhere.
Does the TVS Raider 125 iGO's lack of a kick starter mean anything?

I feel TVS is making a smart move here. Kick starters are going the way of the dodo on most modern bikes, and it’s a sign of confidence in their electrical system. Progress should be embraced in commuter segment as well.

In cities, this lack of a kick starter isn’t a big deal but for rural riders it might be. If TVS wants to offer it as an optional accessory, they should.
