Second is the ZX version with beige inner panels and mind blowing shades namely Matte Blue and Stallion Brown. The third and the most recent is the MillionR Special Edition of Jupiter with Royal Wine shade and a front disc brake. The Jupiter can be bought within INR 48,809-55,034 (ex-showroom Delhi). TVS Jupiter STD and ZX variant only have cosmetic differences. Mechanically, the bikes remain the same. The TVS Jupiter ZX is powered by the same 109.7cc single cylinder engine which produces 7.88 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 8Nm @ 5500 rpm. Contrary to expectations, the bike does not get front disc brakes. So the only difference among both the motorcycles is cosmetic. The ZX variant costs an extra INR 2000.

A factor you should consider is as to how well does the respective service centre take care of their customers. I'd suggest you talk to few owners of these scooters. Front disk brake is preferable to a drum. Tubeless tyres are better. The actual mileage claimed by a few manufacturers is many a times way lower than what is claimed. If you are located in the coastal part of India, I would suggest you avoid chrome accessories as they tend to rust (eg. Piaggio Vespa) quickly. LML Star Euro 150 for example comes with a spare wheel.

The engine delivers 7.8 BHP, which sounds less than the Activa on paper, but on road, the minor difference is not even felt by an average rider. The Jupiter provides the rider with 12 inch rim size with alloy wheels which is far better than the Activa's 10 inch steel rims. Also, it comes with front telescopic suspension, making it more comfortable on non ideal roads. Even after having these features, the Jupiter comes with a price tag of INR 46,925 which is far better than the INR 50,000 tag of Activa.

TVS comes with front telescopic forks whereas the Activa 3G has the conventional outdated suspension. TVS Jupiter comes with 12 inch tyres and black alloy wheels whereas the Honda Activa 3G has only 10 inch tyres. Overall pricing of Jupiter is even lesser than that of Activa. Both have good power delivery, mileage and low maintenance, with TVS spare parts a bit costly than Honda's. TVS Jupiter wins clearly over the Activa 3G.

TVS had made an excellent scooter with all the required features but the brand name associated with Honda has made it the most selling scooter in India. Honda has a vast network for service and this makes it the most easy to have ride. I will suggest Honda activa as it really is the best.
