At high speeds the Crysta feels more planted. What all this means is that the Hycross’s lighter build and FWD make it feel less stable than most heavier and heavier vehicles like the RAV4, and especially in crosswinds.

Where there is no diesel, it is a big problem for taxi operators or people who tow often. As such, the hybrid system simply doesn't have anywhere near the amount of low end grunt both the Motor Trend and EVO guys are so obsessed with.

It's actually a positive. However, stricter emission norms have already begun to sound the death knell for diesel. Toyota is smart to focus on hybrid tech.

Now, surely lack of diesel might be an issue, but in a few years time we'll all be wondering why on earth we ever wanted noisy, smelly diesel engines in the first place.
