Is the Discover 125 Drum Brake braking system as inadequate as some riders say it is?
29 January 2025 07:15
It's a trade-off. Cheaper to maintain and less likely to be damaged, drum brakes are the type of brakes. For day to day commuting they are good enough. But yeah, more confidence would be nice, and discs would be nice to have.
Are owners actually right when they claim the Bajaj Discover 125 Drum Brake is truly 'indestructible'?
29 January 2025 07:15
Indestructible? That's just marketing hype, come on. It’s a decent commuter, but I’ve seen some Discover’s with troubles. It is very susceptible to problems with the electrical system. For its price range, it's tough, but let's not get carried away.
Why do some riders swear by the fuel efficiency of the Discover 125, while others complain it's a gas guzzler?
29 January 2025 07:15
Weight matters a lot. I’m a big guy and I usually have a lot of things with me. I don't get great mileage but my lighter friends with the same bike get much better efficiency. That's not a flaw in the bike, that's physics.
Is the Discover 100 4G a good platform for someone who is new to mechanics?
29 January 2025 07:09
It's not for the beginner. It’s tight tolerances, and if you’re not careful, you can mess things up easily. The carburettor was one of the things that I found to be especially finicky to work on. It’s better to start with a more old, simpler bike like a Boxer or a Splendor because if you make a mistake in riding you can afford it.
Let’s see how the Discover 100 4G fares for food delivery gigs.
29 January 2025 07:09
For the past 6 months, I’ve been using my Discover 100 4G to deliver for Zomato and it’s been a game changer. It’s no joke when it comes to fuel efficiency – I’m saving a ton on petrol costs. It's lightweight, easy to weave through traffic, which is crucial for meeting those delivery deadlines.
Can the Discover 100 4G take two-up riding for couples?
29 January 2025 07:09
It's all about expectations. But if you're fine with going easy and ain’t worried about using the fast lane, then the Discover 100 4G can make for a great, value for money choice, as long as we're talking about couples. It's been great, we've done plenty of scenic rides. Expect to have a hard time keeping up with bigger bikes on the highway, though.
Is the Bajaj Discover 100 4G really worthy of the hype for college students?
29 January 2025 07:09
I disagree. The Discover 100 4G has been nothing but trouble on my part. It’s cheap build quality, and I’ve had to put up with constant niggles. The service centers are a nightmare as well. If only I had saved a bit more money and gone for a Honda or TVS. It’s not worth the headache in the long run, but the initial savings are great.
The Bajaj Discover 125 Drum Brake claims to be the commuter king, but is it?
29 January 2025 07:06
Having been a daily commuter for the past 3 years, I’d say the Discover 125 definitely deserves the tag of being the 'commuter king'. It is no joke when it comes to fuel efficiency, I easily get 65-70 kmpl in city riding. The engine is butter smooth and the seat comfy enough for my 30 km round trip. It’s not the most exciting ride, but it’s a sure thing when you want to get from A to B reliably and cheaply.
Is the Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake good for daily commuting in heavy traffic?
29 January 2025 06:51
Absolutely. In heavy traffic, sudden braking situations happen all the time, and the disc brake gives you much more confidence than the drum brake. Worth every penny.
In real city conditions, how does the Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake's fuel efficiency compare to its competitors?
29 January 2025 06:51
It's right in line with the majority of 125cc bikes I've ridden. The real advantage is that you have a larger fuel tank, meaning fewer fill ups.
Is the Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake a bike worth customizing and modifying?
29 January 2025 06:51
A good mod list for this bike is practical mods: better tires, a more comfortable seat, perhaps a gear indicator. Maintains the commuter spirit, but the ride is better.
Is the extra cost of the Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake justified?
29 January 2025 06:51
Absolutely worth it. You have much better control with the disc brake, even in the wet. I've had both versions and there is night and day difference in braking confidence.
How is long distance touring on a Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake compared to other bikes of its class?
29 January 2025 06:51
It is a great tourer for the price. All you need to do is add a small windscreen and some soft luggage and you’re good to go. I have done weekend trips with no issues.
Why the Yamaha RD350 was so iconic in India?
28 January 2025 11:29
The RD350 gave Indians an idea of what a performance bike could really be like. It was the start of the sportbike culture that would come after.
What is the most memorable RD350 story you know?
28 January 2025 11:29
Once I met a guy that said his RD350 saved his life. He said he sold it to pay for emergency surgery. He bought it back from the same person years later!
How does the Yamaha RD350 stack up against today’s 350cc bikes?
28 January 2025 11:29
In terms of fun factor, the RD350 is still quite good. New bikes are more efficient and reliable, sure, but they don’t have that two stroke character.
Could the Yamaha RD350 succeed in today’s market?
28 January 2025 11:29
No way. Street use for two-strokes is dead. Maybe it would make sense as a track only bike but it wouldn’t be the same as the original RD350.
Was the Yamaha RD350 truly a "widow maker"?
28 January 2025 11:29
It’s a bit dramatic to call it a widow maker. For their time it was fast, but so were a lot of bikes. The rider’s skill and judgment is all it’s about.
Does the dilution of the Mahindra Thar's iconic status come at the cost of the 4x2 LX Automatic variant?
28 January 2025 11:15
They made a smart move with the 4x2 version. It doesn’t quite abandon its roots, but it keeps the Thar relevant in a changing market. It’s not just about off road ability, it’s about icon status.
Does the Thar 4x2 LX feel less 'raw' because of the automatic transmission?
28 January 2025 11:15
I suppose it's a fair trade off. It’s a bit of a loss of that old school charm, but you gain so much in terms of daily usability. Plus, the auto is pretty responsive when you need to be.
