Would the Jaunty-3W transform last mile delivery in India?
by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Compact Jaunty 3W has an electric powertrain and three wheel stability that makes it an interesting option for last mile delivery in India's dense urban areas. Backers say it could be cheaper, more efficient and less polluting than traditional delivery vehicles. But skeptics doubt its cargo capacity, range and India's varied terrain. Some also doubt that it's a long term solution or even just a temporary fix until more sophisticated autonomous delivery systems become a reality. The discussion also includes the impact on employment in the delivery sector as well as how it may change urban logistics.

I think it's a band aid solution. Instead, we should be working to build efficient, autonomous delivery drones.

That could mean more job opportunities for those who can’t afford or operate larger delivery vehicles.

I think that’s a great idea but safety is a concern. How visible is it to other vehicles in the day and especially at night?

I'd love to try this out as a delivery driver. It seems way more maneuverable than the clunky vans we currently use.

It’s ideal for densely populated areas but I don’t think it would work in rural areas with bad roads.

I am skeptical about the cargo capacity of this. This tiny vehicle can’t carry what most delivery services need to.

This could be a game changer for small business! We desperately need affordable and eco friendly delivery options.
