Will Kia Clavis's ADAS features actually be useful on Indian roads?
As the new Kia Clavis is about to hit the market, it is also set to feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These are systems which can include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and automatic emergency braking and are intended to make driving safer and easier. But how effective are they in the Indian traffic, which is chaotic and unpredictable most of the time? While some say these systems aren't sophisticated enough to deal with the special challenges of Indian roads, others believe they could be a game changer for safety. There's also the question of whether Indian drivers will use and trust these features. We will also look at how Kia Clavis ADAS can be beneficial and limited in the Indian context.
I'm skeptical. I can perfectly imagine these systems getting confused with Indian traffic and causing more problems than they are intended to solve.
