Today, how does the Ritz's fuel efficiency hold up?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
When the Maruti Ritz was produced, it was well known for being fuel efficient, but how does it stand up to today’s standards in that regard? Many Indian car buyers are looking for a fuel efficient car, which could make or break the desirability of the Ritz in the used car market. As per some owners, the Ritz even with older models manages to give impressive mileage figures, but for some, the mileage drops over time. The car’s fuel efficiency is a product of how old the car is, how well maintained it was, and driving conditions. The Ritz's real world fuel economy could be compared against newer models in the same segment to get an idea of how good Maruti's engineering has held up.

My Ritz feels a bit thirsty compared to my neighbor's new WagonR. It’s also more fun to drive, but I’m okay with that trade off.

Over the years Mine's efficiency definitely dropped. With age, I guess you'd expect that, but it's not bad.

The Ritz still works well for city driving. In fact, it's only on highways where newer cars appear to have a big advantage.

The petrol Ritz mileage is okay, nothing special for today's standards. It shows the lack of modern tech such as start stop systems.

But I think the diesel version holds up pretty well. Nevertheless, it’s still more efficient than some newer compact SUVs.

There’s no doubt that newer cars are more fuel efficient. My old Ritz is consistently outdone by my friend’s Baleno.

Ritz is a good old money maker, my 12 year old still gives great mileage. On a single tank I recently got 652km!
