The Royal Enfield Sherpa 350 is expected to enjoy a healthy aftermarket scene, but how will its potential for customization compare with that of the Classic 350?

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a massive aftermarket following for countless options for customization and personalization. As the Sherpa 350 has been introduced, there is a question of how it will do in terms of aftermarket support and ability to customize. There are some enthusiasts who are excited about the prospect of building adventure styled customs based on the Sherpa, and others who wonder if it will have as broad an appeal for modification as the Classic. It also talks about if Royal Enfield will also provide their own line of accessories for Sherpa, like they have done for other models. Even the off road capabilities of the bike are up for debate, as to how customization will affect the intended purpose of the bike, especially if it's marketed with any off road capabilities.

The Sherpa is going to have a huge custom scene, I bet. Adventure style 350s will be blank canvases for RE owners to mod their bikes.

Nope, it won't offer up the same customization options that the Classic does. It’s iconic and that is why it has so much aftermarket support. They’ll be more niche and thus the Sherpa will be more niche.

You’re both missing the point. It's safe to assume the Sherpa will have its own special style of customization. We’re more thinking rugged, offroad inspired mods versus the retro cafe racer stuff we see on Classics.

I think RE is going to have a ton of official accessories for the Sherpa. They've seen how popular customization is and they’ll want a piece of that pie.

The real question is will the customized Sherpa actually be more capable off road or will it just look that way. That will tell us what kind of mods will be popular.

Social media is a powerful thing, don’t underestimate it. If a handful of influencers start modding Sherpas, we could have a whole scene explode out of that pretty quickly.

I believe it'll be a two camp split: one group doing practical, adventure mods and another doing more aesthetic stuff more akin to urban mods. It could be really interesting to see what people come up with.
