The real question is, is the Dominar 250 worth it for long distance touring?

The Dominar 250 is marketed as a touring option that’s budget friendly, but is it really? It has highway stability and comfortable ergonomics, according to some riders, but others say its weight and power output are not suitable for long trips. Fuel efficiency, long distance seat comfort and luggage capacity are all factors. We also ask how it compares to purpose built tourers in the same money or a little bit more. It's been surprisingly capable, I've found. At highway speeds the engine is smooth and the dual channel ABS offers confidence at every condition. It’s not a dedicated tourer, but it’s versatile enough for most people’s needs.

It’s pretty solid as a budget tourer. It has upright riding position and decent suspension for long rides. If you invest in some good luggage solutions, you’re set.

It's a jack of all trades, and a master of none. It's good for weekend trips, but not for a cross country tour. After a few hours, the vibrations get annoying and the small tank is annoying.

It depends on your riding style I’d say. But if you can live with a relaxed pace and don’t mind making frequent fuel stops, you’re okay with it. It’s not a bike to cover big distances quickly, at least not two up with luggage, as the power feels lacking.

It’s hard to beat the price. Granted, it’s not perfect but show me another bike under 2 lakhs that can tour as comfortably. The trick is to set expectations and do some minor mods such as a better seat and windscreen.

It's decent, but not great. In fact, there’s no wind protection, and after a couple of hours, the seat becomes quite uncomfortable. Serious touring is better off with something like the RE Himalayan.

Absolutely! I've done a couple 1000+ km trips on my D250 and it's been a champ. They are great for stability on the highways, and I can drive all day at 100 and not be exhausted.
