The Mahindra Jeeto’s comfort and ergonomics for drivers doing long hours?
by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
The comfort of driver is a very important part of any commercial vehicle, especially if the driver will be at the wheel for long hours. As a small truck, the Mahindra Jeeto lacks the kind of cabin space as well as features of larger vehicles. But it’s intended to strike a balance between compactness and comfort for city use. Driver satisfaction and productivity are directly related to the ergonomics of the driver's seat, the location of controls, the quality of the suspension and the over all driving experience. Opinions are varied on how well the Jeeto pulls off the balance, some are lauding its car like comfort features, and others are demoting its basic interior and ride quality. Most of the discussion centers on how the Jeeto fares against other vehicles in its class and if it’s able to satisfy the needs of drivers who use it as their main work vehicle for long durations.

For me, the Jeeto feels like a luxury ride, coming from driving a tempo. It's all about perspective. Is it perfect? No. For its price point and purpose, I think Mahindra has done a good job on driver comfort.

My biggest issue is adjustability. I am a tall guy and I can never find a comfortable driving position. Seat and steering adjustment options need to be much more available from Mahindra.

I believe people forget this is a budget mini truck, not a high end commercial vehicle. The comfort level for what it is, is fine. I’ve added a cushion to the seat and a steering cover and it’s a world of difference. A little customization goes a long way.

Comfortable? Is this the same vehicle we're talking about? After a few hours, the seat is hard as a wooden bench, the suspension is harsh and the noise levels are howling. For short trips, it’s bearable, but for long hours? No way.

I work 10-12 hour shifts in my Jeeto and, to be honest, it’s not bad. The controls are easy to reach and the seat's decent. It’s no luxury car, but for a mini truck it’s surprisingly comfortable. So that’s a win in my book, my back doesn’t kill me at the end of the day.
