The design of the Flying Flea C6: Does it compromise performance for style?

As a result, the Flying Flea C6’s sleek lines and minimalist frame have certainly turned heads in the motorcycle community. But this unusual design method begs the question of what the bike's performance characteristics might be. The unconventional frame and body shape may have caused some factors such as aerodynamics and weight distribution and stability condition. Furthermore, the smaller dimensions of the bike may impact such things as how large the battery can be or where the motor can be located, possibly affecting range and power output. In this question, we investigate the relationship between aesthetic appeal and functional design in modern electric motorcycles and whether Royal Enfield has achieved a bike that looks as good as it performs or if style won over riding dynamics and practical performance.

It's not so simple, I don't think. In fact, the unique design could actually enhance some parts of performance, such as aerodynamics. The compact frame would also make it super agile in city traffic, plus. It's not until people get to test ride it that we'll know for sure.

It looks cool, but I'm afraid it's function over form. That thin frame doesn't seem to inspire confidence for stability, and where's the space for a decent sized battery? I'm afraid they compromised range and power at the expense of style.

I believe RE might be on to something. Gas bikes have to follow a certain form, but electric bikes don’t. In this case, the unusual design might actually improve performance in ways we're not used to thinking about.

It's an urban commuter, not a sport bike, lets be real. I think the design will do just fine for its intended purpose. It doesn’t have to be record breaking, it just has to be efficient and easy to ride in the city.

I’ll reserve judgment until I see some real world tests. It’s easy to be deceived by looks, remember the BMW C1 scooter? This may be an example where unconventional design yields unexpected benefit.
