The BE 6e will be a premium priced device, will its advanced features justify it?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Mahindra BE 6e is a code packed with cutting edge features and technology usually found in more expensive counterparts. It includes a high end sound system, over the air update capability, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and a sophisticated infotainment system with dual 12.3 inch screens. These features are impressive but they also make the BE 6e a pretty expensive SUV in Indian market when compared to some other electric or ICE SUVs. If these features are more than fancy gimmicks, it raises questions about value for money, and whether they’ll truly improve the ownership experience. Further, there is the matter of long term reliability and maintenance costs for these high tech systems. If Indian consumers are going to spend this kind of money, are they ready to pay a premium for these advanced features in a Mahindra vehicle or would they rather buy an established luxury brand? Are these tech features even important in an electric SUV?

I love being an early adopter, I love having all the latest tech. The higher price is easier to swallow because of it.

The range and charging speed is more important to me than the tech is cool. In my book, those are the make or break features for an EV.

And it’s not just about the features, it’s about the entire experience. But if Mahindra can really deliver a premium feel, it will be worth it.

I'd rather do a simpler, cheaper EV. It just means that all those fancy features are more things that can go wrong.

That’s a big deal, because these are over the air updates. This means that the car can get better over time, which could explain the higher up front cost.

No matter how high tech it is, I'm not going to pay luxury car prices for a Mahindra. The brand doesn’t have that premium image yet.

The ADAS features are a game changer. It’s worth the extra cost if it makes driving safer and less stressful.

I love those screens, but they worry me about reliability over the long term. Driving is also a pain while using touchscreens.
