So, how would the KTM 990 Adventure fare on a long-distance tour?

Riders tend to praise the KTM 990 Adventure for its off-road abilities, but its long-distance touring abilities are less than clear. It has both disciples and detractors: some tout a powerful engine and comfortable riding position, perfect for getting you from A to B, whereas others focus on the lack of wind protection and modern comfort. Also for long trips, the bike’s fuel efficiency and range are also to consider. Furthermore, the maintenance requirements and reliability of the 990 are discussed on extended trips. The 990 is often compared by riders to more touring-oriented adventure bikes, wondering if the 990's versatility is a jack of all trades or if it is better suited to shorter adventures. Inevitably, discussions on this topic often veer off into modifications and accessories that can make the 990 more touring friendly.

It's a beast for touring! It is very easy to long ride because of the upright position and torquey engine. All you need is a bigger windscreen.
