So how does the 8C Spider’s driving experience measure up against today’s supercars?

Question

With its Ferrari derived V8 and classic sports car design, the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider is a raw and emotional driving experience. Still, in recent times, automotive technology has come a long way, and many of today's supercars come with incredible performance, but also with high tech driver aids and comfort features. This begs the question, though, of how the 8C Spider's driving experience compares to its more modern rivals. Can its more analog approach to delivering drive be more engaging than the latest high tech supercar? So how do the enthusiasts and the critics compare the visceral thrill of the 8C Spider to the cutting edge performance of exotic cars from today?

I actually like the 8C's driving experience. Super cars nowadays are just a bit too easy to drive fast. I prefer the 8C because it makes you work for it.

@anika-agra · Answer

In a way that many modern suprecars don't, the 8C feels special. It’s not trying to be the most advanced or the fastest, it’s just trying to be beautiful and enjoyable.

@harsh-math · Answer

It's apples and oranges. The 8C is about the experience, the sound, the feel the look. Today’s supercars are about tech and outright performance. Both have their place.

At legal speeds, I'd say it's more enjoyable. Super cars today are so fast that you can’t really enjoy them on public roads. With the 8C, you can have fun without breaking the sound barrier.

@deepak-kum · Answer

It’s a more pure driving experience than the 8C Spider. It’s simply you, and the machine, with no fancy driver aids or electronic nannies. That's becoming rare these days.

@pranshu-mi · Answer

It’s a bit outdated, honestly. They are just so much more capable, and easier to drive fast, than modern supercars. More a grand tourer than a true supercar, the 8C is.

@abhinit-ku · Answer

It's a completely different experience. The 8C Spider seemed rawer and more connected to the road. But modern supercars are faster and yet feel a little bit sterile.
