Should you modify the Yamaha FZS-FI V3.0, or keep it stock?

Customization culture is huge in India and no bike is spared from the modding craze, and the Yamaha FZS-FI V3.0 is one such popular bike. Many owners have a debate between keeping their FZs stock or jumping into the modification world. Aftermarket exhausts, performance air filters, LED lighting upgrades and cosmetic changes such as a wrap job or painted job including custom paint are all common mods. But, of course, the question is always, do these mods make the bike better or are they just for show? Others say that the FZ comes from the factory perfectly balanced, and that mods can upset this balance, or even void the warranty. Some people argue that just a few choice upgrades can make a huge difference in the riding experience. And then there’s resale value—do mods help or hurt when it’s time to sell? Before we go, let’s hear what FZ owners have to say about keeping it stock or giving it a personal touch.

Mine I've kept stock, and I'm fine with it. I don't want to mess with that balance; Yamaha engineers know what they're doing.

Having a bike is half the fun of modding! I've put a K&N filter on it and got a performance exhaust and it's really made a difference in the throttle response.

The way to go are subtle mods. I have some LED upgrades and some frame sliders. It improves the look without going overboard, and makes things safer.

There's no point in modding for performance. The cost is minimal, and the gains are also minimal. If you want more power, just get a bigger bike.

I love customizing my rides. It's my FZ with a custom paint job and some ergonomic tweaks. It makes it feel like it's more 'mine' you know?

Stick to practical mods. Maybe a better seat, maybe some auxiliary lights for night riding. Anything beyond that is just money down the drain.

I modded mine, but mostly reverted changes. For me, the bike felt best in stock form.

It depends on your goal. If you’re wanting to stand out, then yeah, mod away. If performance is what you’re after, you won’t get the results you’re looking for on an FZ.

It's a great platform for mild customization, I think. It’s easy to make your own without going crazy. Just be aware of warranty and legality issues.

Modding is fine, but don’t forget about resale value. Keep all the stock parts so that you can return it to original condition if you ever want to sell.
