Should the Pulsar NS125 be the new kid on the block, or is it worth the extra cost over more basic 125cc commuters?

At a higher price point than most basic 125cc commuter motorcycles in the Indian market, the Pulsar NS125 is a relatively new entry. The price difference between the two models causes potential buyers and motorcycle enthusiasts to debate. But there are those who maintain that because the NS125 is sportier, has better performance and more features, the additional cost seems to be justified. It offers a more enjoyable riding experience, as well as better long term value, they say. But others argue that the extra cost isn't necessary for pure commuting purposes and that simpler, more fuel efficient options offer better value for money. Solid build quality, resale value, and the prestige of the Pulsar brand versus more budget minded solutions are often topics that are discussed.

If you’re on a tight budget, it’s overkill. The extra cash could be used for riding gear, or savings. Bikes are depreciating assets anyway, so why bother spending more than you have to?

I can say that the difference in riding quality and overall feel is huge, as I upgraded from a basic 125 to an NS125. It’s just a more enjoyable bike to own and ride.

For the safety features alone I'd say it's worth it. In addition, the beefier tires and better brakes could literally save your life in an emergency situation.

Pulsars generally have a better resale value than basic commuters. But you pay more upfront, and you might get more when you sell it. Something to consider.

It all depends on what you want out of your bike. The NS125 is worth it if you like riding and want something that is also fun on weekends. Probably not if it’s just for getting from A to B.

Honestly, I don't think so. For instance, if you’re only going to use it for commuting, something like Honda Shine or Hero Glamour will work just as well for lesser money. Save the cash, for fuel or gear.

Absolutely worth it! It’s a proper motorcycle, not just a basic commuter. It has much better build quality and you get features like a rear disc brake that most other 125s don't have.
