Should buyers wait for the Enyaq, or are there alternatives worth considering?
Extremely long wait times for delivery have been reported by many potential Enyaq buyers, with delivery delays being reported as a year or more. As the rapidly evolving EV market has caused frustration and uncertainty. While buyers are excited about the Enyaq, some are wondering if it’s worth the wait or whether there are other options that may come to market sooner. So, let’s talk about the pros and cons of waiting for the Enyaq vs looking at other options, for price, features, and the EV landscape generally.
I waited 13 months for my Enyaq and really, it was worth it. I couldn't find anything else for the same money that gives you the same amount of space, comfort and range in the car.
No way I'd wait that long. It's moving too fast in the EV market. It will be better options in a year's time. If you want something sooner, it would be the Kia EV6 or the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Ridiculous wait times, but it depends. If you really need a car, obviously it’s not the place to go. If you can wait and you’ve test driven the Enyaq and love it, then perhaps it’s worth holding out.
After waiting 8 months for Enyaq I canceled my order and got myself a Tesla Model Y. In my opinion, the software and charging network alone make it a better choice.
In fact, it actually worked in my favor, the long wait. When I got my Enyaq, it had the latest software updates and a couple of minor improvements by the time. Waiting isn’t always a bad thing if you don’t have somewhere to be.
I don’t think the Enyaq is overrated. If you don’t want to wait, there are plenty of great EVs out there. The whole market is evolving so quickly, why limit yourself to one model?
Wait times are a deal breaker for me. It's poor planning on Skoda's part, and I worry about how they'll be able to support the car long term if they can't even get production right.
