Reliability-wise, how does the KTM RC 890 compare to its Japanese rivals?

by geeta kumariover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
The RC 890 is one of the KTM motorcycles, which have a reputation for high performance and using the latest technology. But the reliability of these motorcycles is still being debated in the motorcycle community when compared to Japanese manufacturers like Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. KTM's build quality and performance are some things that many riders swear by; others report more frequent maintenance issues. Reliability is the main question I seek to answer with this question, and it is addressed by asking people to share their real-world experiences and perceptions about the RC 890’s reliability, including long-term durability and frequency of repairs, versus its Japanese counterparts.

If you follow the maintenance schedule, the RC 890 is reliable enough. Not a Honda, but not a lemon either.

Both are in my stable, and the KTM is more exciting, but I worry a lot less about my Kawasaki breaking.

We’ve seen KTM come a long way in reliability. They can’t be compared to outdated stereotypes anymore.

Japanese bikes still are the kings of reliability, let’s be real. Expect more shop time, but the RC 890 is fun.

I have had mine for two years with no problems. The way you treat your bike is everything.

The KTM might be less reliable than the Japanese bikes, but its performance makes up for it.

The RC 890 requires more frequent maintenance in my experience than my old Yamaha, but that’s not a deal breaker.
