Is Toyota’s tax on the Innova Hycross justified?

Toyota is known for its reliability and resale value but that can cost you good money. As a new model of a hybrid car, the Innova Hycross is presented as a much more upscale car than what its predecessor was. But it's also expensive by a long shot relative to some competitors in the segment. An issue with this is if the additional cost is worth the additional features, hybrid technology and the Toyota brand name. However some say, it’s too expensive for what you get, other people say that the long term gains of owning a Toyota outweigh the cost of owning it. The debate stretches to the value of hybrids in the Indian market, particularly on the value of hybrids considering fuel prices and environmental concerns became key factors for the purchase decisions.

Absolutely worth it. There is no peace of mind like the peace of mind you get from the reliability you get with Toyota. Also, you’ll be saving tons of fuel in the long run thanks to hybrid tech.

No way. Way overpriced for what you get. Others brands can offer you better features and better performance for a lesser cost.

It's your priorities. If you are looking to own a vehicle that you won’t sell and spend a lot of time on the road, the Toyota tax is definitely worth it. If you’re after the latest features or performance, there are better options.

It’s the real deal hybrid tech here. THere's more to Toyota than that damn badge. With the premium comes fuel savings and lower emissions, which makes it worth it if you do a lot of city driving.

I'd say it's a mixed bag. The reliability's great and the build quality but Toyota been lazy on features. However, other brands offer the same tech if not more modern tech's at a cheaper price.

Just the resale value makes the price justified. Almost anything about toyotas hold their value better than the other car brands in India. When you sell it, you'll make up the difference.

If you’re financing the car, it’s not worth it. The fuel savings won’t come close to offsetting the higher EMIs than would be the case with a comparable non-Toyota.
