A problem faced by any electric vehicle owners, but more so with scooters like Ola S1 Pro is range anxiety. A lot of potential buyers are concerned about running out of battery on their daily commute or longer trips. But with the S1 Pro's claimed 181 km range and real world reports of 120–150 km in different modes, is this anxiety warranted? In this article, we will look at the experiences of actual owners, and talk about whether range anxiety is a real problem, or just another case of overblown fear for S1 Pro riders.

Most of the range anxiety is in your head, quite honestly. I’ve had my S1 Pro for over a year, and I’ve never once run out of juice. So plan your trips and you're good to go, you can use Eco mode when you need to.

That depends on how far you drive each day. If you are doing 50-70 km a day like me you will be ok. If you are pushing 100+ km a day, you may need to be a bit more careful about how you charge.

It’s true, range anxiety is real, especially when you’re new to EVs. It’s better over time with the S1 Pro. You learn to trust the battery and plan around it. The regen braking helps a lot in extending range, plus.

I think it's overhyped. For a scooter, the S1 Pro’s range is pretty good. For daily use you'll be fine, but don't expect to do long highway trips on it.

It’s not about the range, it’s about the charging infrastructure. Range anxiety is a non issue if you have a reliable charging setup at home or work. The issue comes when you’re using public chargers that may or may not be functional.

The S1 Pro is part of the EV experience, and that includes range anxiety, but it's easy to manage. Using Normal mode I have found to be a good balance of performance and range for what I need.

I switched from a petrol scooter and range anxiety is real, but overblown. Adapt your mindset and plan a bit more and you’re good. While range worry happens once in a while, the convenience of charging at home wins out.
