Is the Toyota Vitz’s popularity to its detriment, or is it a wise long term investment?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views5 answers
For years, the Toyota Vitz has been a popular buy for people looking for a reliable, economy car. But, since it has become so popular, there are many used Vitzes out there any given time. Yet some say this abundance is bad for resale values, because supply outstrips demand. However, some argue that the Vitz's reputation as a model that has low running costs and lives longer than many competitors makes it a good long term investment that retains its value better than many competitors. Do Vitz owners get good return on their investment, or should they consider more rare options? What is the Vitz’s resale value compared to other cars in its class and what factors should potential buyers be considering when looking to future resale?

Resale is where it’s at for hybrid models. With fuel prices always going up people will pay premium for extra efficiency.

The Vitz definitely holds its value better than other brands in the same class. It’s not an investment, but you’ll lose less money than with most other cars.

That depends on the model and year. The newer ones tend to hold value better, as long as they have better features. The base models? Not so much.

I believe that the market is full. But there are so many used Vitzes around that it’s hard to get a good price when selling. Supply and demand, you know?

I’ve found that Vitzes tend to hold their value pretty well. Because they have a reputation for reliability, people are always on the lookout for used ones. It's a safe bet.
